About Matrimony™ Bare Root Rose Bush
Rosa ‘WEKprelamima’ — Matrimony™
🧬 Breeder: Christian Bédard
🌹 Rose Type: Hybrid Tea
💍 Creamy ivory petals, a warm yellow heart, and a romantic blush of pink and lavender—Matrimony™ was practically made for love stories.
Matrimony™ is a beautifully romantic Hybrid Tea whose flowers seem to change as the relationship develops.
Large, fully double blooms open creamy ivory with a soft yellow glow at the center. As the flowers mature, delicate shades of pink and lavender begin to wash across the petals, creating an elegant watercolor effect.
Each approximately 4½–5-inch bloom is carried primarily one to a stem in classic Hybrid Tea fashion, making Matrimony™ especially desirable for cutting.
And yes—it has fragrance.
A lovely citrus-and-rose perfume complements the soft coloring, while repeat flowering keeps the romance going throughout the season.

🧬 A Match Made in the Rose Garden
Even the parentage feels appropriate for a rose named Matrimony™.
Christian Bédard created it from:
Pretty Lady Rose × Miss Manners
The resulting rose combines elegant Hybrid Tea form with a wonderfully romantic palette of ivory, yellow, pink, and lavender.
Unlike a rose whose flowers remain one consistent shade, Matrimony™ evolves as the bloom matures.
And perhaps that's rather fitting for the name.
💍 Why Grace Rose Farm Loves It
Something old, something new, something pink…and just a little lavender, too.
Matrimony™ might be one of the most perfectly named wedding roses we've seen.
The flowers begin in bridal shades of creamy ivory and soft yellow, then gradually take on romantic pink and lavender tones as they mature.
We love that transformation.
Put several flowers at different stages together in a bouquet and you get a beautifully coordinated palette without needing several different varieties.
Then add the large 4½–5-inch flowers, long cutting stems, repeat bloom, and citrus-rose fragrance, and Matrimony™ becomes an obvious choice for gardeners who love bringing roses indoors.
And for weddings, anniversaries, engagements, or a rose planted to commemorate a marriage?
The name says everything.
🌿 Growing & Care Recommendations
Planting Site: Choose a location receiving at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily with fertile, well-drained soil.
Spacing: Allow approximately 3–4 feet between plants to accommodate mature growth and encourage good air circulation.
Watering: Water deeply after planting and maintain consistent moisture while your bare-root rose establishes its new root system.
Pruning: Prune in late winter or early spring, removing dead, damaged, or weak growth and encouraging strong new flowering stems.
Cutting: Matrimony™ was made for bouquets. Cut when the buds have begun to open but before they're fully unfurled for the longest vase display.
Wedding Garden Idea: Plant Matrimony™ alongside white, blush, lavender, or champagne-colored roses to create a wonderfully romantic wedding-inspired garden.
Cold Climate Care: In colder portions of its range, protect the crown with an insulating layer of mulch after the ground begins to freeze.
