🍓 Big Hydrangea Color in a Smaller Package
Strawberry Sundae® comes from French breeder Jean Renault and shares the beautiful color-changing qualities gardeners love about Vanilla Strawberry™, but on a much more compact plant.
The flowers begin creamy white and gradually turn pink as summer progresses, with the richest strawberry coloring developing as nights become cooler. Color intensity can vary with climate and growing conditions.
💛 Why Grace Rose Farm Loves It
Sometimes you want the flowers without the enormous shrub.
That's Strawberry Sundae®.
Its compact habit makes it especially useful near roses, along foundations or anywhere a 6- or 7-foot hydrangea would simply be too much. And because those creamy-white flowers mature into shades of pink, it fits beautifully into a romantic cutting garden.
The blooms are wonderful fresh or dried, too.
🌿 Planting & Care
Plant in well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade, giving plants consistent moisture while they establish. Mulch around the root zone to help conserve moisture.
Strawberry Sundae® blooms on new wood, so prune in late winter or early spring before new growth begins. Its compact, upright habit generally requires little complicated maintenance.
