About True Bloom Roses® True Delight™ Bare Root Climbing Rose
Rosa ‘LIMsummer’ — True Delight™ PP36,040
🧬 Breeder: Ping Lim / True Bloom Roses®
🌹 Rose Type: Large-Flowered Climbing Rose
🎨 Creamy yellow streaked and splashed with pink—True Delight™ looks like someone took a paintbrush to every flower.
True Delight™ is not your typical climbing rose.
Each large flower opens in a soft creamy yellow, then gets dressed up with unpredictable pink to salmon-pink stripes, streaks, and splashes.
No two blooms look exactly alike.
And at approximately 4 inches across with 25+ petals, these aren't tiny striped flowers disappearing into a giant climber. They're substantial, full blooms designed to make an impact.
Add a sweet fragrance, glossy green foliage, strong disease resistance, and a compact climbing habit reaching about 7 feet, and True Delight™ becomes one seriously fun rose.

🎨 Every Flower Is Different
This is where True Delight™ gets really fun.
Those pink markings aren't perfectly uniform.
One flower may open mostly creamy yellow with a few dramatic pink streaks.
Another may be heavily splashed in salmon pink.
And another may land somewhere right in between.
When dozens of flowers are open together, you get a climbing rose covered in slightly different variations of the same color palette.
It's almost like having several roses growing on one plant.
True Delight™ doesn't do matching outfits.
🌹 A New Generation of Climbing Roses
True Delight™ comes from the True Bloom Roses® breeding program, led by renowned rose breeder Ping Lim.
The goal behind True Bloom Roses® is an interesting one: combine the large, high-petal-count flowers people associate with traditional roses with the strong disease resistance and garden performance of modern shrub roses.
True Delight™ takes that philosophy vertical.
Instead of creating an enormous climber that requires a huge pergola or wall, this variety develops relatively compact climbing canes reaching around 7 feet.
That makes it much easier to incorporate into today's gardens.
🪴 Yes, You Can Grow This Climber in a Container
This may be one of our favorite things about True Delight™.
You don't necessarily need a giant garden to grow it.
Its relatively compact climbing habit makes True Delight™ suitable for growing in a large patio container fitted with a sturdy trellis.
Imagine those striped yellow-and-pink flowers climbing behind a patio seating area.
Or framing a small balcony trellis.
Or growing up a decorative obelisk beside an entryway.
It's climbing-rose romance on a much more manageable scale.
💛 Why Grace Rose Farm Loves It
This rose looks hand-painted.
We're always drawn to roses that give you a reason to inspect every flower, and True Delight™ absolutely does.
The combination of creamy yellow and salmon-pink striping means every bloom brings a slightly different pattern.
Then there are the practical qualities.
It's fragrant.
It's repeat blooming.
It's disease resistant.
It's compact for a climber.
And those flowers are a substantial 4 inches across.
But what really wins us over is the personality.
True Delight™ isn't trying to be subtle or perfectly coordinated.
It's cheerful, colorful, a little unpredictable—and completely delightful.
🌿 Growing & Care Recommendations
Planting Site: Choose a sunny location with fertile, well-drained soil for the strongest flowering.
Support: Provide a trellis, fence, small arbor, pillar, or other sturdy support for its climbing canes.
Training: Rather than allowing every cane to grow straight upward, gently train major canes diagonally or horizontally where possible. This encourages more flowering laterals along the length of the plant.
Watering: Water deeply after planting and maintain consistent moisture while your bare-root rose establishes its root system.
Pruning: Avoid hard pruning while a young climbing rose develops its main framework. Once established, remove dead or damaged growth and selectively renew older canes when necessary.
Container Growing: Choose a substantial container with excellent drainage and provide a permanent trellis or support. Container-grown roses require more consistent watering than roses planted directly in the ground.
Small-Space Climber: At approximately 7 feet, True Delight™ is especially useful where a traditional 10-, 15-, or 20-foot climbing rose would simply be too much.
