About Palibin Dwarf Korean Bare Root Lilac Bush
Syringa meyeri ‘Palibin’
Type: Dwarf Korean Lilac | Hardiness: Zones 3–7
💜 Classic lilac fragrance on a beautifully compact shrub—Palibin proves you don't need a huge garden to grow lilacs.
Palibin Dwarf Korean Lilac is a wonderfully compact lilac that becomes covered in fragrant, pale lilac-pink flowers in late spring. Red-purple buds appear first, opening into dense clusters of delicate single flowers against small, clean, dark-green leaves.
Growing only about 4–5 feet tall, Palibin stays low, dense and rounded rather than developing into the large, leggy shrub we often associate with traditional lilacs.

💜 The Lilac for Smaller Gardens
One of the biggest challenges with old-fashioned lilacs is simply finding room for them.
Palibin solves that problem beautifully.
Its naturally compact habit makes it an excellent choice near a patio, along a walkway, in a foundation planting or repeated as a low flowering hedge. It also begins flowering at a relatively young age, so gardeners don't have to wait years for that first fragrant spring show.
And unlike many traditional lilacs, its foliage has excellent resistance to powdery mildew, helping the shrub remain attractive long after flowering is finished.
💛 Why Grace Rose Farm Loves It
Palibin gives you the lilac experience without the lilac real-estate problem.
We love its tidy shape, cold hardiness and clouds of fragrant flowers—but its clean foliage may be one of its greatest advantages.
At only 4–5 feet tall, it's also wonderfully easy to pair with roses. Use Palibin toward the back of a rose border, repeat it through a cottage garden, or plant several together for a fragrant spring hedge.
Small enough to fit almost anywhere.
Fragrant enough that you'll know exactly when spring has arrived.
🌿 Growing & Care
Plant Palibin in full sun for the heaviest flowering, although it can tolerate some light shade. It prefers well-drained soil and should be watered consistently while the bare-root plant becomes established.
Very little pruning is required to maintain its naturally rounded shape. If shaping is needed, prune immediately after flowering, before the plant develops flower buds for the following spring.
Once established, Palibin also has good tolerance for drought and urban growing conditions, making it an especially versatile landscape shrub.
