About Foxi Pavement™ Bare Root Rose Bush
Rosa ‘UHLater’ — Foxi Pavement™
Breeder: Jürgen Walter Uhl | Type: Hybrid Rugosa Shrub Rose | Hardiness: Zone 3
💗 Wildly fragrant, wonderfully tough, and followed by big red rose hips—Foxi Pavement™ is old-fashioned Rugosa charm in a compact garden shrub.
Foxi Pavement™ produces intensely fragrant clusters of deep lavender-pink flowers against wonderfully textured, glossy green foliage. The semi-double blooms open to reveal golden stamens at their centers, giving them the relaxed, romantic look we love in classic Rugosa roses.
But this rose isn't delicate. Foxi Pavement™ was bred to be cold hardy, vigorous and disease resistant, returning with flowers throughout summer before producing large, decorative red hips later in the season.

👃 Don't Forget to Smell This One
If fragrance is one of the reasons you grow roses, Foxi Pavement™ deserves attention.
Its flowers carry the strong, spicy-sweet perfume associated with Rugosa roses, making it especially lovely near a walkway, patio or garden entrance. And unlike many highly fragrant roses, this one brings some serious toughness along with its perfume.
Once the flowers finish, don't be too quick to deadhead every bloom. Allow some to remain and the plant can develop large red hips, extending the show into fall and winter.
💛 Why Grace Rose Farm Loves It
Foxi Pavement™ is the kind of rose that reminds us why Rugosas have remained garden favorites for generations.
It's fragrant. It's hardy. It's beautiful. And it's tough.
We especially love the contrast between those romantic lavender-pink flowers and its rugged personality. Hardy into Zone 3, this is a rose for gardeners who deal with real winters—or anyone who simply wants a rose that doesn't need to be fussed over constantly.
And those big red hips are the bonus round.
🌿 Growing & Care
Plant Foxi Pavement™ in full sun and well-drained soil. Like many Rugosa roses, it is adaptable and remarkably resilient once established.
Because Rugosas naturally develop a dense, somewhat spreading habit, Foxi Pavement™ is excellent for informal hedges and mass plantings. Prune primarily to remove dead or damaged wood and control size as needed rather than trying to force it into a highly formal shape.
For the best display of autumn hips, leave some spent flowers on the plant rather than deadheading everything late in the season.
