The Curious Cottage pack contains one each of the varieties listed below, each in a #1 Own Root Potted Rose size.
Rosa viridiflora
Rosa chinensis ‘Viridiflora’
Rosa viridiflora is a historic China shrub rose for USDA Zones 7–10 with an unknown original breeder, documented since the nineteenth century and unusual for having green sepals in place of ordinary petals. Its wonderfully peculiar green flowers add texture to arrangements and invite a closer look at the remarkable diversity of roses.
Mutabilis
Rosa ‘Mutabilis’
Mutabilis is an old China shrub rose for USDA Zones 6–9 with an unknown original breeder, in commerce since the nineteenth century and cherished for its color-changing flowers. Single blossoms open yellow, turn pink, and deepen to crimson, creating the effect of colorful butterflies resting on the plant.
Nearly Wild
Rosa ‘Nearly Wild’
Nearly Wild is a floribunda rose for USDA Zones 4–9, bred by the Brownell family and introduced in 1941 to combine the look of a wild rose with repeat flowering. Simple pink flowers and golden stamens give a cottage garden a relaxed, natural feeling.
