About Sugar Candy Rose™ Bare Root Rose Bush
Rosa ‘Meiconfiz’ — Sugar Candy Rose™
🧬 Breeder: Meilland®, France
🌹 Introduced: 2022
🌹 Rose Type: Compact Miniature / Floribunda
🍭 Bright orange blooms melt into salmon and candy pink, covering this tiny powerhouse with color from spring through fall.
Sugar Candy Rose™ looks like someone raided the candy shop and turned it into a rose.
The flowers begin in vivid shades of bright orange and apricot, then soften through salmon-pink and candy pink as they mature. As the semi-double flowers open, their cheerful yellow centers become visible, adding yet another color to the mix.
Because flowers at several stages can be open at the same time, one little plant can look like it's blooming in multiple colors at once.
And there are a lot of flowers.
Sugar Candy Rose™ was bred to be exceptionally floriferous, covering its compact plant with blooms repeatedly from spring through late fall.

🍭 A Rose That Changes Color Like Candy
Sugar Candy Rose™ doesn't stay one color.
And that's exactly the point.
Flowers begin in bright orange, then gradually soften through shades of salmon, coral-pink, and candy pink.
As the flowers open, their yellow centers become visible.
Put all those stages together on one heavily blooming plant and you get a mix of warm, cheerful colors that really does look like a bowl of candy.
It's playful.
It's colorful.
And it definitely doesn't take itself too seriously.
🌏 A Rose With International Recognition
Sugar Candy Rose™ was bred in France by Meilland® and introduced in Japan in 2022.
It was later selected as a commemorative rose for the 2025 World Rose Convention in Fukuyama, Japan.
Its combination of cheerful coloring, compact growth, prolific flowering, heat tolerance, and strong disease resistance has made it particularly appealing for modern gardeners who want maximum flower power from a smaller plant.
💛 Why Grace Rose Farm Loves It
This little rose is basically garden candy.
We love the color transformation.
Instead of getting one predictable shade all season, Sugar Candy Rose™ gives you orange, apricot, salmon, coral, pink, and yellow—sometimes all on the same plant.
And despite all that flower power, the plant stays wonderfully compact.
At roughly 18–24 inches, Sugar Candy Rose™ can tuck into places where traditional roses simply won't fit. Put it along the front of a rose border, mass several together, or grow it in a beautiful patio container.
Then there's the performance.
Excellent disease resistance. Excellent heat tolerance. Repeat bloom. Compact habit.
Small rose.
Big personality.
🌿 Growing & Care Recommendations
Planting Site: Choose a location receiving at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily with fertile, well-drained soil.
Spacing: Allow approximately 18–24 inches between plants when creating a border or mass planting.
Container Growing: Sugar Candy Rose™ is an excellent container rose. Its naturally compact habit makes it particularly well suited to patio pots, porch containers, and smaller urban gardens.
Watering: Water deeply after planting and maintain consistent moisture while your bare-root rose establishes its root system.
Pruning: Prune in early spring to remove dead or damaged growth and maintain its naturally compact, bushy shape.
Front-of-Border Idea: Use Sugar Candy Rose™ along the front of taller roses to create a colorful lower layer that flowers for months.
Color Pairing: Its orange-to-pink coloring looks especially beautiful paired with creamy white, blush, apricot, lavender, and deep burgundy roses.
