Breeder: Dr. Wilbert Ronald | Type: Preston Hybrid Lilac | Hardiness: Zones 2–7
🌸 All the fragrance and romance of a lilac—just in a wonderfully smaller package.
Pinktini™ is a compact lilac covered in rich pink, lightly fragrant flowers in late spring to early summer. The colorful blooms stand beautifully against clean, bright-green foliage on a tidy, upright shrub that reaches only about 4–5 feet tall.
Unlike traditional lilacs that can eventually become enormous, Pinktini™ was specifically selected for its compact size, making it much easier to tuck into smaller gardens, foundation beds and cutting gardens.

🌸 A Little Lilac with Canadian Roots
Pinktini™ was bred by Dr. Wilbert Ronald at Jeffries Nursery in Manitoba, Canada, so it's no surprise that this little shrub can handle some seriously cold winters.
It's a cross between ‘Charisma’ and ‘Miss Canada’, with the goal of creating a more compact and tidy version of ‘Miss Canada’. The result keeps those beautiful rich-pink flowers but brings them down to a much more manageable garden size.
At only 4–5 feet tall, Pinktini™ is proof that you don't need an enormous yard to have a lilac.
💛 Why Grace Rose Farm Loves It
Pinktini™ is basically a lilac made for the modern garden.
We love classic lilacs, but they can become big. Pinktini™ gives you that nostalgic spring moment—pink flowers, lilac perfume, armloads of stems for the vase—on a shrub that fits comfortably into smaller landscapes.
It's also remarkably hardy to Zone 2, drought tolerant once established, deer resistant and attractive to pollinators.
And that name?
Pinktini™ sounds exactly like something we'd like to enjoy in the garden while the lilacs are blooming.
🌿 Growing & Care
Plant Pinktini™ in full sun for the strongest flowering and a dense, compact habit. Choose well-drained soil and water regularly while your bare-root plant becomes established.
Pinktini™ blooms in late spring—typically late May into early June in cooler northern climates. Like other lilacs, it forms next year's flower buds after the current year's bloom, so prune only immediately after flowering if shaping is needed.
At just 3–4 feet wide, several Pinktini™ lilacs planted together can create a gorgeous compact flowering hedge without taking over the garden.
