About First Editions® Little Lady™ Bare Root Lilac Bush
Syringa × ‘Jeflady’ — First Editions® Little Lady™ PP30,331
Breeder: Jeffries Nurseries | Type: Compact Hybrid Lilac | Hardiness: Zones 2–7
🌸 All the perfume and romance of a classic lilac—on a compact little lady that knows how to mind her space.
Little Lady™ was created for gardeners who adore lilacs but don't necessarily have room for a 10-foot shrub. In late spring, dark-pink buds open into beautifully fragrant lilac-pink flowers, covering a tidy, rounded plant only about 4–5 feet tall and wide.
Its fresh-green foliage stays attractive through summer before developing dusty-red to purple tones in fall, giving Little Lady™ another season of garden interest after its spring flowers have finished.

💜 A Little Lady with Serious Pedigree
Little Lady™ was developed by Jeffries Nurseries in Canada by combining the wonderfully fragrant flowers of ‘Miss Kim’ lilac with the compact habit of Dwarf Korean lilac.
The goal was simple: keep everything gardeners love about a fragrant lilac, but make the plant much easier to fit into today's gardens.
The result matures at roughly half the size of ‘Miss Kim’ while retaining wonderful fragrance and remarkable winter hardiness—even thriving in Zone 2.
💛 Why Grace Rose Farm Loves It
Little Lady™ is proof that good things really do come in smaller packages.
We love classic lilacs, but let's face it: some eventually become enormous. Little Lady™ stays around 4–5 feet, making it much easier to pair with roses, tuck into a cutting garden, or repeat along a walkway as a fragrant flowering hedge.
And don't let the dainty name fool you.
This little lady is Canadian tough.
With Zone 2 hardiness, fragrant pink flowers, pollinator appeal and beautiful fall foliage, she brings an impressive amount of garden performance to a surprisingly manageable shrub.
🌿 Growing & Care
Plant Little Lady™ in full sun and well-drained soil for the best flowering and most compact growth. Water regularly while your bare-root lilac establishes; once mature, it has good drought tolerance.
Lilacs develop next year's flower buds after blooming, so if pruning is needed, do it soon after the spring flowers finish. Avoid heavy fall or early-spring pruning, which can remove the coming season's flowers.
And absolutely cut a few stems for the house. Little Lady™ may be compact, but that classic lilac perfume can fill an entire room.
