Princess Garden Roses: A Royally Exclusive Collection

Bred for Japanese emperors by visionaries in botany, Princess Garden Roses have been a delicacy for generations. Grown exclusively and in limited quantities at select family-run farms - including our grower-partner Alexandra Farms - these roses are unlike any other collection because of their unique hues, fragrances, and petal formations.

The vase life of Princess Garden Roses is also extraordinary, averaging 10 days or more —a significantly longer life than the average garden rose. With each day, the buds slowly unfold into large, multi-layered blooms, displaying wavy, sharp, or soft petals in abundance and emitting distinctive scents in varying intensities.

Regardless of event or venue, the Princess Garden Roses are a prime selection for an elevated nod to the collection’s regal history. Partner-grower Alexandra Farms offers eight varieties, exclusively from their farms, with more varieties in testing for future release.

Princess Aiko

Princess Aiko (Beloved)’s remarkable color, a bright peach, is set off with sparks of cream and coral. The slight variations in hue set off the overlapping lines of her concentric petals, forming an almost spherical bloom of medium size that opens to 80 percent, retaining its lovely shape. Princess Aiko’s dark green foliage makes a striking contrast.

Princess Fairy Kiss Pink Spray

Princess Fairy Kiss Pink Spr’s many wavy petals unfurl slowly to form long-lasting flowers, larger than most other spray roses, in a delicate shade of blush pink, soft yet luminous. With her rounded shape and frilly top, she is the perfect fairytale addition to any bouquet composed of pinks or in a range of blush tints.

Princess Hitomi

A medium to large rose with a seductive but not overpowering fragrance of lavender, Princess Hitomi (Beautiful History) is remarkable for her pure color, a cotton-candy pink. Because the tone of her hue is so even, it brings to the fore delicious contrasts in the form of her petals: her inner petals are rolled into four hearts, while her outer petals curl under into a layered array of starry points. This Japanese rose blends baby-girl innocence and sophisticated style.

Princess Holly’s Hope

A wonderfully imposing peach-colored bloom, Princess Holly’s Hope was selected by floral designer Holly Heider Chapple as her signature garden rose during a visit to our farm in early 2020. Transitioning from a soft peachy-toned center to frilly, creamy outer petals, this sizable ruffled-cup bloom is classified as “very full” in terms of petal count, as it has over 80 petals. Princess Holly’s Hope opens fully and holds astoundingly well.

Princess Maya

With petals of a pure light peach, Princess Maya (Night Rain) opens into a medium-sized rose with outer petals that curl under, forming starry points, and inner petals that make elaborate folds in the classic quartered garden rose pattern. Her size, color, and delicious lavender fragrance make Princess Maya a particularly apt choice for a bridal bouquet!

Princess Miyuki

Princess Miyuki (First Snow) embodies her name and evokes the fresh purity of her color. It is rare to find a pure white rose, especially one with a romantic fragrance. Still, this variety's large, high-centered blooms smell deliciously of myrrh — a rich, warm, sweet yet spicy fragrance reminiscent of aniseed.

Princess Pinku Spray

Bursting with color, Princess Pinku Spr brings strong garden character to bouquets and arrangements. Her tiny, hardy flowers are diminutive color bombs—useful for boutonnieres and other body flowers, as well as for bringing touches of vibrant color to bouquets. Hot pink at the center of each flower gives way to outer petals that mingle light pink with pale green.

Princess Midori Spray

With the fresh green of leaf buds in spring, Princess Midori lends a lively color accent to bouquets and arrangements in almost any palette. Overlapping petals seem to burst with energy; they give her rounded blooms a surface texture that intensifies the impact of her vivid yet versatile hue. Each stem bears at least four or five small blooms of a unique, intense green color.
