Bare Root Rose Harvesting: Part 3

Bare Root Rose Harvesting: Part 3

Article: Bare Root Rose Harvesting: Part 3

Bare Root Rose Harvesting: Part 2

We’ve reached the exciting part of the bare root rose harvest: lifting the plants! You might think this process is tough on the roses, but it's actually the safest method for harvesting them. The attachment on the back of the tractor is custom-designed specifically for roses. The blade on the front reaches deep enough below the roses to lift the plants along with their roots.

Following the tractor is a dedicated team of nearly 30 people who quickly gather the roses into piles, bundle them, tag them, and move them to a cart for transportation to post-harvest processing. In just one day, this team harvests an impressive 80,000 roses, so they certainly work efficiently!

The next step is post-harvest processing, where each plant is hand-inspected and graded. We can’t wait to share more about this process with you soon!
